An emulsion coating’s best performance is realized under specific application conditions. Low VOC, proper handling, substrate preparation and and cure conditions all influence an emulsion’s appearance and performance. Benefits include greater safety in storage, handling and application as well as very good to excellent performance, depending upon the product.

Champion produces emulsion primers, topcoats, DTM’s and wood floor sealers.

Urethanes provide the highest quality finish available in the industry. Providing superior exterior durability, multi-component urethane finishes do not chalk or fade as do epoxies, while still providing good chemical resistance.

Champion supplies many urethane finishes, both as a topcoat and DTM, for the chassis, container, trucking and rail industries. Unlike many suppliers, Champion tries to educate the equipment owner regarding performance expectations of various qualities of urethanes available today.

Alkyds are a mature technology, but even today are used in a variety of applications requiring a competitive cost and moderate performance with ease of application. Today, many alkyds are available in the VOC compliant range of 2.8-3.5 lbs/gal. Uses include various primers, topcoats and other specialized requirements.

Epoxies are a family of chemically cured coatings that are able to meet a variety of requirements, excelling in the areas of corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, and abrasion resistance. Epoxies can also be formulated to low or no VOC (depending on requirements).

Champion supplies epoxies for many high performance applications including zinc and non-zinc epoxy primers, exterior DTM coatings , railcar linings, non-skids and other customized needs.

A wax coating is an economical anti-corrosive layer of protection on a corrosion susceptible surface. When fortified with modern sulfonate technology and applied to a surface (such as metal), waxes provide an high level of protection from the effects of corrosion.

Champion coatings integrates this chemical property into all of its corrosion resistant undercoatings (such as the 600 and 665 series) yeilding a high degree of protection, good color corrdination, economy, and ease of application with minimal metal preparation.
